Daniel Cook is Assistant Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral where he is the principal organist and founder director of the Cathedral Chamber Choir. In addition he is Musical Director of the Grange Choral Society and Orchestra in Christchurch and the Farrant Singers in Salisbury.
Daniel spent a year as Organ Scholar at Worcester Cathedral before moving to the Royal Academy of Music where he studied with Nicolas Kynaston, James O'Donnell, Marie-Claire Alain, and Lionel Rogg. While at the Academy, he was Organ Scholar at Southwark Cathedral before being appointed Organ Scholar and then Assistant Organist at Westminster Abbey.
As a recitalist, he has played across Britain and Europe with recent engagements in most of the cathedrals in Britain, several Oxbridge College Chapels and in Westminster Abbey's Summer Organ Festival. He is also well known as an accompanist and has worked with many distinguished choirs including the BBC Singers and the Holst Singers. His recording of the organ works of Sir Walter Alcock was released by Priory Records in 2009 and further releases are planned for 2011 and 2012. Recent highlights have included a performance of the complete organ works of Olivier Messiaen.
